Good luck everyone. A couple years ago, my DC was denied from their highly selective ED school but admitted to several schools in RD with lower admission rates. It sounds like sour grapes/copium, but I think DC's chosen school is a much better match than their ED school, and I think DC is more confident because DC had the opportunity to compare that school with others through admitted student weekends etc.

Anyhow, if your DC gets in ED, that's wonderful and will save you a lot of time and energy this spring! But, if not, don't fret and please don't feel the need to panic-apply in ED2!

My kid wants to get in so he won't have to do more applications, but really doesn't care where he goes (other than a vague thought that "more prestigious means easier to get a job"). On the one hand, I'm glad he won't be upset when he's rejected (which is likely), but on the other it would be nice to have a child who actually cares about something the way your child does.

This makes sense. It probably makes the wait all the more excruciating if an acceptance is a real possibility.

Williams Amherst Swarthmore Pomona - but really it embodies a wider range of top NESCACs and the other meaning is even more relevant

ED is a far reach so trying to focus on RD applications now. Debating whether to do ED2 or not.

If you make a school ED2 in Scoir can the school see that? Or, more importantly, can they see if you changed a school from ED2 to RD in Scoir?

ND is really likes certain catholic HSs. Ours is one. They need a certain % of catholics to maintain their identity, I think. Plus they like leadership. I can predict who is getting in from our school pretty accurately and we send a dozen kids a year.

Nervous, but DC received the 4 year ROTC scholarship last week and the battalion is speaking with admissions so we have a little more hope...

How can any school with a low admit rate be a likely? I assume your DD attends a Catholic feeder, but still….

DP. Must be their naviance indicates an over 80% admit rate for her stats. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a feeder.

Did her school share why they’re confident? From everything I’ve read, Notre Dame is really hard to predict. My child also applied REA, but isn’t thinking too much about it since the chances of acceptance are low.
