single sitting 1490 with top rigor, highest ranked school accepted, 3 kids we know with same singlesitting, confirmed on scoir, HS class '22, 23:

dartmouth RD, WL 2 other ivies, rejected other t15, in to 1 other T20
duke RD after ED deferral, in to 2 other T20 types RD
cornell ED

all no hooks

Two years ago, my NMSF, 3.98/4.5, 1560 was rejected from two ivies and WL at UVA and NEU. CS (engineering) major.

Yes, two years ago it’s the most chaotic time in higher education. All ivies are test optional. Equity is the first priority. Test scores have little weight. I am so glad that the darkest days are over.

Bingo. No one is surprised.

Also, in case you didn't know, the stats are table stakes. What else did your kid bring to the table?
What was his niche/point of excellence?
And it can't be stats....

I bet some people are.

If you were surprised, I suggest you get off of this site… The traffic is much less than it used to be anyway. And go read up on the admissions process and the impact of major.

Join some active Facebook groups too. No one should be surprised by that result. In RD males with an engineering or computer science major are held to the very highest standards. Their applications to top schools must be very well thought out, and heavily focused on showing personal qualities.

This sounds unlikely. At least 3 of those colleges are ED only schools with that score, esp Chicago.

Agree. Sounds fake made up.

If you would like to consider schools by selectivity zones, this analysis provides a column for Student Selectivity Rank for colleges and universities nationally:
