DD said the cafeteria at her HS school was empty Monday night at 6pm, but maybe people come in later. She and her friends really wanted to grab dinner while there (they love school lunch) but they knew it wasn't for them and didn't.


Tell her to go! We went occasionally to pick up lunches during the pandemic. We didn't need it financially but we did it because we're in a high income area so we wanted to keep participation up for those who did truly need it so they would keep the site open, to reduce stigma if more people go, and to keep that oh so tenuous connection to school during virtual learning. So I guess that last one was for community.

I sort of agree with you- I wish my local taxes could go to something else but since your orange president is so hellbent on keeping food out of the mouths of hungry kids, this is where we are, and I'm glad APS is doing something about it.
