I never actually thought she was that great an actress. She was ok, she had weird energy, often sounded shrill or one note.

Her career lasted for 2 main reasons, she stayed slim and she was not a mean spirited person

That's because the next crop is so forgettable. There used to be a bigger focus on raw talent now it's all looks with marginal talent.

Even worse when she has adopted kids herself.

Apparently the health decline was sudden.

So sad. She was young. A loss.

This is sad, but let’s keep some perspective. In no way is 79 young.

It is for a celebrity.

Not really. We are going to lose a lot of great talent over the next decade.

Well 80 is a great age to leave to avoid unnecessary suffering. She was lucky to live a great life. RIP!

Sadly, her own reputation will always be compromised by her association with Allen. Even if he isn’t a criminal (big if), he is a creep. Real selective feminism there.

Her reputation isn’t compromised at all. I don’t even think of her relationship with him, and neither do most people. She’s received an outpouring of affection from all sorts of people!

I agree she is not compromised, but I do remember them being a couple.

Sorry if this was already mentioned but Shoot The Moon is one of those movies that sticks with you. She was perfect in it as well as Albert Finney and everyone else. The scene where she cries in the bathtub is so hurting and real.

+1
I will always remember that beautiful baby, Elizabeth.

NP. Me as well! And all the jars of applesauce. I wonder why that particular movie made such an impression on so many of us?

It was so pretty. Autumn in small town Vermont, charming house, Sam Shepard as a veterinarian, apple orchards. It was a perfect fantasy.

Just this past Friday I watched Baby Boom on Tubi. It’s like it was an omen.
