Isn't that the point of this thread? There's a lot of speculation, in Britain and in the US, that Kate and William are actually pretty conservative and like Trump. They certainly seemed happy to talk to him during his visit, and certainly that's part of their job description, but also you can't fake the pictures that came out of the multiple engagements.

I’m a bit confused because we don’t really have hierarchy or status here in the US so why do conservative women act like they’re…equivalent to Kate?
She’s a professional housewife. That’s why. Conservative women….
This is a very Western viewpoint and very closed minded.
She is much more than a housewife. She sits on tons of committees and boards and heads up programs for nurturing little ones.
Her name is on those positions, but Kate Middleton does very little work. She is known for being very lazy about her Royal duties. She avoids appearances as much as she can
Yeah, it’s so lazy to limit activities when you have several small kids and cancer. What a bum!
DP. A year ago, Kate told us herself that she finished chemo, and that she was "cancer-free" (sic, it takes five years to say that), in that syrupy video. Since then, Kate's been skiing twice, has taken four international vacations and more domestic vacations, and the UK press reports that she works out rigorously every day. It's time to stop playing the cancer card. Also, all three of her kids are in school all day.
She could do some work. If she wants to live the life of a wealthy British aristocrat, then fine. But then stop taking the Sovereign Grant and duchy money from the British people. The royal family has plenty of private property and assets and she'll be fine.
Or else what? They should just all go away because you said so?
So you have no actual response?
I don't give AF if some lady in England works or not. Why would any American care?

There's a certain sort of ugly and beautiful that comes out if people from the inside - makeup can't hide it nor help it. She's a good person, not perfect, but real. That's kinda enough.
+1
Completely agree. And there is a certain type of woman for whom this natural grace really makes them furious. How dare she! They can't stand it and it's pathetic.
Imma need to pull your liberal cards friends. She's a failed queen bee and real liberals stan our real princess - Megan.
Yeah. I actually find Meghan's lifestyle show almost unwatchable. But knowing what I do about the palace-orchestrated hate campaign against Meghan, which William and Kate helped further, and which was part of a coordinated campaign to big up Kate and William, and also seeing how that hate campaign resonated with the racists and the MAGAs--I'm totally on Meghan and Harry's side.

PP's response seems to be that the British public should keep paying Kate to do nothing except take vacations and renovate her fifth "forever home" at Forest Lodge. Easy enough for an American Disney-princess worshipper to say. My British relatives (London, Birmingham, Aberdeen, and Glasgow), who pay actual taxes for this, disagree, but then American MAGA were never consistent about expectations from their public figures.
