yeah, the folks that meet MRA +10 are better off postponing the pension for as long as possible and starting it and FEHB right before they turn 62. but that's a long 5 years without severance or pension or subsidized health.

if the rate of pay used in retirement calculations (basic pay= base pay + locality) is in excess of the official rate of pay for EX level I, you are not eligible for severance.
