Dr. Abdallah (either one) at Johns Hopkins pediatric cardiology in Herndon - POTS specialists but figured out my daughter's hard to diagnose autoimmune issues.

This is OP. DD said new doctor said celiac or immune dysfunction not likely bc DD has not had GI or other serious symptoms, like contracting pneumonia, that would point to that.

She ordered a lot of tests (I haven’t seen the list yet, will post here when I do). MCAS is something she’s looking into. Not too concerned about edema bc heart and lungs sound fine. Doctor said to increase salt even more and stay on the light diuretic. It might take a good 2-4 weeks for this light diuretic to make a difference. This could just be a bad POTS flare.

She emphasized the need to follow the CHOP protocol to regain physical stamina and reduce likelihood of dizziness while standing/ exerting. Elevate head of bed, like prior PP said. Gave a letter for work accommodation (consideration for time off for medical appointments) while DD is building back up her strength.
