Leave BC out of it, but I think Harvard undergrad and Northeastern are comparable. The students aren't there for the learnin'. They are there for the job. One provides internships; the other connections. But it's the same purpose. Same city, more or less. And they are both practical schools in their own way. I absolutely believe students interested in Northeastern should consider Harvard.

I don’t know much about Harvard or Northeastern, but I know a few students who didn’t get into MIT and chose to go to BU. Yeah, they just wanted to stay in Boston.

Funny. I have two kids accepted at Dartmouth. One is attending, the other chose St Andrews instead….

It’s not exactly the same but I feel like Dickinson might appeal to a student that likes W&M.

Yes to the first three. Curious if anyone has good substitutes for SMU.

Mine are heading to W&M and liked St. Olaf a lot. Smart/friendly vibes.

Aren't they all super reach? On steroid?

no, NU, HM and Mich are matches for top of the class kids at our private, with about 30-50% acceptance if in the top 5% and top rigor. CCO had data. Proved to be correct.

They are not that for MOST people (outside of elite private HSs). Majority on here are looking for real alternatives in this thread. So something obtainable, that is a target/high target for a top student, not a reach still
