Exactly. Let them take care of themselves, and we in DC will take care of ourself (if the Congress will let us have our own budget with our own money rather than forcing us to defund our own police)

This is either a test run for when he tries to take over more blue cities before the midterms and/or and 2028 election or he is militarizing DC as he prepares to declare martial law and ignore our constitution even more. Regardless, the goal is to not hold fair elections for the midterms and 2028.

This is serious militarization on a domestic front and our pathetic Congresspeople need to show up and do something. At least the Dem. Govs association is speaking out, but it appears that mid-August stealth-mode actions are getting way under-recognized for what they are.
He’s just trying to fortify DC.
Of course, those red states are seeming a little weaker than normal right now.

So now we're up to five red states sending national guard to "save" DC by standing around on street corners. More have agreed to come before the first wave has even gotten to their stations. No one actually paying attention can believe that "crime" in DC is the real purpose of this theater.

They aee combining ICE arrests with regular police arrests. Illegal immigrants are not a source of crime in DC.
