^ to be clear, not because I don’t believe their are issues (I have no idea; no kids at the school) but because I doubt they’d actually tell you in a parent-teacher conference.

I agree with you. Not sure we should change the HoS because of one unhappy teacher.

I don't think we should change the HoS either--at least not yet.

But I DO think the Board should exhibit tighter oversight on the HoS.

Come parent-teacher conferences, I plan to query each of my DD's teachers. What is the vibe on campus? Are you getting the support you need to develop your craft? Are you being treated with the professional respect you deserve? I know other parents are planning on doing the same.

I will be gobsmacked if you actually receive candid, negative responses to your questions to the teachers.

Former long time Holton teacher here. I took a pay cut and now have a longer commute to get away from this abusive environment.

Basically you’re asking someone to provide identifying information that outs him or her?

Permit me to bring the thread back to the issue at hand.

I want my DD to attend a school where here teachers are the moral center.

I want the administration to show these teachers the respect they deserve. As someone noted earlier, this is a school, not a high-priced law firm or major corporation.

I want the administration to help and support teachers. If struggling teachers refuse help or exhibit signs of unwavering mediocrity, then they need to be pushed out humanely.

I want the Board to check the administration. A previous poster mentioned a third-party consultant. Yes, thumbs up. If this means putting Penny on an improvement plan, so be it.

I want fellow parents to stand up and support their children’s teachers. These are the people who show unwavering belief in their unactualized potential. They exhibit professional love for our children.

Holton can be great. But greatness begins in the classroom, and not in the administrative boardrooms.

You’re thinking of the previous HOS at Collegiate School in Richmond

Who was pushed out for being too "woke" so the idea that she was brought in to Holton as a conservative savior is super weird.

That's obviously just a line she uses. It's not true.

The previous HoS was Ms. Jones. My girls really liked her. She was always at the school and knew every girl by name. I thought she handled the pandemic period extremely well, at least by comparison with other schools.

The majority are a consequence of Penny, her policies, or her hires.

Lol she retired after 16 years. She was not kicked out. That is ridiculous.
