All of that is true, but it's also true that the parent culture is more conservative (meaning probably like D +10 as opposed to like D +80 at a school like Sidwell) and MUCH more southern (and preppy) than other DC area privates.

I don't know any parents who are openly MAGA, but I know a more than a few who voted for Youngkin. It's not a conservative school in the political sense but it is a school where conservatives can and do fit in. People don't wear their politics on their sleeves.

I don’t think you are an SSSAS parent. It is not the place for someone who describes themselves as OP does. Not anymore.

NP here and SSSAS parent for multiple kids over 10+ years (and counting). It definitely is a “safe place” for right of center parents. There are plenty in the US as well as many young parents entering into the school community in the LS. There were admin kids there from Trump’s first 4 years and there are carryovers there now. There are plenty, and I mean plenty, of Republican parents (of all various degrees). There was somewhat of an exodus in 2020 with Covid and some of these parents worried the school wasn’t going to open and moved their kids to catholic schools that were opening, but then there was an influx of kids who for the same reason left public to come to SSSAS. I would say the parent community now is about 50/50.
