I remember a thread on here before about other Mclean kids who have worked hard on the field but also have connections that most don't have. Like dad is part owner of DC United connections. This is going to happen in Mclean, Bethesda, Arlington (ahem, North Arlington). Life isn't fair.
Did any of these girls end up making impacts on their teams this year? The DC United connection must be working. UVA is #1 I see.
UVA and Duke both had pretty good years. Duke is still in the tournament, so I guess the recruiting strategy is working.

Context for those who want to use their trust furnd to train with OL. Nice puff piece for Duke soccer. Seriously though, well done FVU these connections are what makes a club stand out from the rest
Nothing wrong with being a nepo baby. It has its perks. Player with the same last name At Duke has played a whole 5 games in her career.
So Mary Long goes to Duke and is a sub as a freshman, leaves to go pro with KC which her parents own and gets called into U20 camp. Man that was easy. I watched her play a half last week and she was the worst player on the field. Perks indeed.
Imagine gong to the 2019 Women's World Cup as a middle school aged kid and saying, "Mom and Dad, I want to do this!!"
"Sure honey. We can do that!" Then buying a women’s teams. Wild, man.
KC got knocked out in the first round. Very surprising.

DC power goal was literally an un aimed boot to no one from a defender and the other players raced each other to catch up to the ball. One FWD got a lucky toe there first ! My 12 yr old plays better.
Where do they find the players for DC Power? There seems to be no process involved to how any of these players are found and signed. Totally random?
The kids club or college coaches call the USL coach. Or they get cut from NWSL and try to find a USL team. All you really have to show is interest. Most of the USL players were off the bench at sub tier colleges.
Some were actually very good college players, to be fair. Maybe not many but some were.
Not good enough for pro teams. They are average at best.
They were all good college players. They were all really good youth players too. The pyramid gets smaller as you progress in levels.
I love the ignorance of DCUM.
All of this. And the guy/woman who says his 12 year old is a better player than these women. Bless their heart.
