As a former posted stated: If you are mad, join the Board of Directors:

I will not joining the board (will be attending the
AGM) but one thing for sure, the President, who also serves as the Travel Commissioner has got to go. It's a massive conflict of interest. He has got to give up one at least. Curious how the Travel Soccer Technical Staff and Coaches got ridiculous raises AGAIN. For all you non profit minded folks, I already checked, its not on their 990s.

How do you know the coaches and technical staff got raises? At the AGM the full budget needs to be shown on where the spending is. There have been rumors for years that SYC scholarships top soccer kids as well so the top kids only pay team fees not tuition. (Or at least the ones the want to grab from other clubs).
I don't really care if my kid gets a break or not though it would be nice to get one. I know going in what I'm going to have to pay. This sudden change to our team fees violates that trust with me. I know I'm not alone.
do not pay theres nothign they can do
Wrong. When you don't pay the team fees, after 30 days of being late, you are banned from practice and games. All the fake keyboard warriors on this thread make the thread almost unreadable. It's mostly 1 ant-SYC bashing person who sock puppets their own posts.
All parents pay a base travel fee rate, then you have to pay the team fees. If you are posting and are acting shocked by this revelation, it is apparent your kid does not play travel sports or you didn't understand or not ask any questions or did not read your contract when you accepted an offer. Its tough, but hardly anything, that is organized in urban areas is free to participate in.
Cool thoughts. We were already given our team fees. Now SYC is changing them to the tune of $750-1000 (but no one knows yet because you know communication and stuff). So what parents were told would be like a few hundred dollars depending on the team is now well over a thousand dollars.

I already am surprised at the existing team fees for tournaments. But I at least sort of get that. This even more fees on top of the existing fees? If so, why am I just now finding out?
Same here. Confused as well.
What part don’t you get? The club is unable to pay its bills so it created this program to make YOU foot the bill.
For all of you guys talking about this being an effective use of 20 bucks, that’s your right. The harsh reality will be next year when the ECNL to GA movement picks up and ECNL level girls start to come to SYC. Since SYC doesn’t have any ECNL level girls you parents paying for EDGE will basically be funding a facility for the girls that will come and snatch up your DDs spot. Hardly worth it.
SYC needs to upgrade the girls coaching staff if they want to start recruiting girls from ECNL.
