Poor writing is the only explanation.
I think it was just a panic attack...
Yep.
+2 I thought that was pretty clear.

Did they ever explain the meaning of the SIRENS text that Devon sends Simone over and over at the beginning? Seemed like it must have had significance to the two of them, but they just left it...
I think it’s supposed to be their code between sisters - it means I need help, cone help me but Simone just sent a large fruit basket.
I just assumed it had something to do with the sirens from the ambulance and police when Devon found her mom and sister.

Simone said something about them being magnets and she was running and out of breath back to the beach when he was out of breath and sweaty on the bed.
But I also think it showed his age. He’s not a young man and to Kiki‘s point he can marry a young woman and have babies, but it won’t make him younger. I thought it showed his frailty and possibly why he is so desperate to burn his life down and start over, in the futile attempt to gain more time or get a do over.
Everyone calling it misogynistic, I don’t see it. The men don’t fare any better. I do think Simone pushed Ethan off the cliff. She’s a siren, luring men to their death, and her whole thing is get rid of what doesn’t serve you anymore. Ethan was not serving her anymore. I think it’s pretty clear Peter is going to eventually have the same fate when he doesn’t serve her. But these men are to stupid to realize it.

Yep. I watched it to the end, mostly because of Moore. It was cliche and predictable. With that qualhogging and one kiss, somehow I knew before the ending Simone was walking away with Peter and KiKi with nothing. I was a bit surprised with Devon’s ending. And I believe she pushed Pete when he began calling her names in his drunken state. She’s crazy and off her meds.
Correction, I think she pushed Ethan not Peter. I just think her relationship with Peter is gross
And out of the blue and not remotely believable.
