So weird.

I have literally never posted in this forum before.
In the 15 years I’ve been reading DCUM, I’ve never seen anyone use the phrase “gave me the ick” and all of a sudden twice in the past week someone posts that phrase about their date. Yeah, I’m not buying that you are only one of them.
I'm old, but still familiar with this phrase. It has been around at least a couple years now.
Basically "the ick" means when a woman finds a man unattractive, but doesn't want to call him ugly, so blames it on something else, often ridiculous reason, such as OP and the guys girly CC design.
"Red Flag" is also a synonym of "the ick", meaning same thing. "Eww this guy is (ugly, poor, short, skinny, fat, etc.) but it's not PC to say that, so I call him (creepy, weird, dumb, ignorant, girly, crazy, dangerous, etc.) to assuage my guilt of rejecting him."

Where can I sign up for a My Little Pony prepaid Visa? I am so down for that.
Anonymous wrote:I get it OP. I once stopped seeing a guy because he wore hideous sandals to our date and had troll feet. The ick is millions of years of evolution keeping us safe. It's not just the card or the sandals. It's multiple tiny data points that culminate in some seemingly petty detail that gives us the ick. Trust your instincts

NP. “The ick” is an increasingly popular term that childish adult women use. OP might be one of several embarrassing posters using it here.
It’s really embarrassing. She needs to stop.
Anonymous wrote:This is the most ridiculous post I’ve read in a long time. It’s a waste of brain cells to take it seriously enough to engage in a discourse about it. FFS, OP - I have no words. You are a piece of work.

I guess you want the spiritual one?
It's a nice card.
I knew I recognized those flowers from somewhere. It's the Obama portrait artist.

OMG I always thought that was a meme but it's real!

lol I think he was embarrassed for you because you didn’t realize it was an Amex Platinum. They don’t hand these out to everyone. The annual fee is $700.
That's just crazy. What is the advantage of that? Do you get more cash back or something? If so it's a push unless you use it a lot.
Many places don't like taking Amex either cause they have to pay higher fees as vendors.
