Trump admin declared that Libraries and museums have no purpose except to brainwash the populace to serve the state. This is real Nazifascist stuff.
The new acting director says
“We will revitalize IMLS and restore focus on patriotism, ensuring we preserve our country’s core values, promote American exceptionalism and cultivate love of country in future generations.”

*Shrug* Better than promoting queer theory and anti-American groupthink.
Queer people exist. Anti-American group think-you mean learning history? Including the bad parts? Bc if you don’t, you are bound to repeat it. Oh wait…
Even if you thought that things had gone too far left—this is your solution?
The problem isn't teaching the bad parts. It's not teaching either the good parts or the broader context.
The problem we are having politically is that the "left" wants to only teach the bad parts. The "right" only wants to teach the good parts. And neither wants to teach the context.
That's why the swing vote keeps undulating back and forth.
Except the last election wasn’t about the “right” vs the “left”. It was EVIL vs GOOD.
The 2024 election shown that MAGA cultists were willing to vote for 1) EVIL in a lying white nationalist, sexist, racist, homophobic, Project 2025, Nazi traitor who already had his thugs destroy the Capital building while killing people.
MAGAs would never vote for 2) the moral, good candidate who happened to be a woman of color. I know plenty of black and Hispanic men voted for Trump. At least the Amish men told the truth when asked by reporters. “We don’t want a woman at the top position in government”. I will never buy Amish furniture again, but at least they were honest.
Some people were so sexist and racist they were willing to vote for the EVIL Orange Cheeto even if the Orange Cheeto does horrific, immoral, and illegal things….because they felt the bad stuff would only happen to the “others” they felt superior to.
And this right here is what really makes me hate the Democrats (or at least Dems like you) right now - the holier than though extremist attitude against anyone who doesn't agree with you. I mean grow up. Sure, I would love to see a female President and actually voted for Harris. But I would never "not" buy any Amish furniture again simply because of their personal/religious beliefs about women. That is ridiculous and people with that mentality are why the Democrats are going to continue to lose. Same thing with the Tesla cars....all the vandalism and protesting.
If the extremism on both sides continues I may actually vote 3rd party in the next election.

I don't think this administration will, is capable of, fixing this. But at least they noticed it's a problem.
A lot of orchestras have switched to blind auditions, so I’m not sure what point you are tying to prove exactly. That without affirmative action, white men aren’t getting the spots they used to get and presumptions of superiority they used to get simply by virtue of being white? Not quite the “problem” you are making it out to be.
Principals are selected by committee, not blind audition.
Locking white men out of the arts was fine on January 19th, supported by everyone. Now it is not.
It's hard enough to be an artist. We should support all them, not just POC LGBTQIA+, and women artists.

Kind of weird to assume that white guys are being disadvantaged because they are no longer the de facto winner in every competition. People who aren’t straight white males can also be capable leaders and have the sort of star power that excites donors and sells tickets. Everyone there has the chops.
Just because white guys used to systematically exclude everyone who wasn’t a white guy from consideration doesn’t mean people are getting even. But I could understand how equality might feel like oppression when you’re used to privilege.
