+1 I have been warned by 3 different teachers to stay away from WOMS despite it being very close to home. All complained about the principal. I don’t teach HS, but if I did, I’d leave the district before going to SHS. Life is too short. I really hope these teachers can win their school back. Toxic admin need to be ousted from our district.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:This is so disappointing. Years ago, I taught at White Oak Middle School. I moved to a different school because the principal (who is still at WOMS) engages in similar bullying behaviors. This means that students who go from WOMS to Springbrook are spending their entire middle and high school careers in buildings in which this type of toxic behavior is the norm. Hopefully this letter will result in some positive change for teachers and kids.
Can confirm this is still the case at White Oak and the parallels between these two administrators is truly uncanny. It’s a horrible work environment with terrible morale and high turnover every year.
That’s terrible! I’ve heard horror stories since I started MCPS about White Oak (and other admins). Why do they keep the horrible ones in their positions?! Don’t admins have PAR?

I just got a bad vibe from the two off them. I am glad we chose the Blair Magnet for my child instead of the IB program at her home school.
I applaud the staff for putting together this letter and putting up with these despicable creatures to say the least. I hope MCPS does takes action against this bully. She needs to be removed. Can someone deliver this letter to the news channels please?
It’s so sad that the principal is driving students away from the school’s signature program. I wonder if she is trying to dismantle the IB program. Anyone know if there’s been turn over in staff in that program?
My child is in Springbrook IB, I’m saddened to read this letter. I will be demanding action from central office and the board this week.
As for staff, my kid loves the two coordinators. One was their chemistry teacher and the other was their math teacher. They report seeing them abnormally stressed since December this school year. Wouldn’t be surprised if they try to leave, but it would be a huge loss for the program. They also said their favorite English teacher no longer teaches IB and several other teachers either leaving or retiring this year.
Springbrook staffer here: The last Signature Programs Coordinator at Springbrook was run out of the building by the principal's retaliatory practices, and I suspect the same thing is happening to one of our current IB coordinators. There is noticable turnover in many of the critical roles at this school.
