This is false. I know from personal experience that all five students who were admitted (and accepted) from St. Anselm's were admitted in the first round. Three had older brothers who are/were students, but the other two were first time Gonzaga families.

The Gonzaga Waitlist is one of the frequent topics on here.

Every Spring after acceptances are sent out, the forum has several questions about how "real" it is? Their son had been put on the Waitlist and they want to know what his chance of getting off it are.

People point out this is a low probability deal. The school accepts a few off what is most likely a relatively long WL if they miss their "yield" projection by a few.

But some posters chime in that they know of someone who got off. These posters are trying to be "kind". One wonders if that really is kind when the best advice might be for the family to start more seriously considering Plan B.

The same drama plays out every year. 2026 won't be any different.

The freshman class at Gonzaga was just over 50% from Virginia for the 1st time ever.
