Why do you need them to have called it at 545pm??

They used to call it early in the morning when they had the best information possible and they’ve already committed to the night before which is not really in everyone’s best interest it’s in some whiny parents best interest.

So just wait.

Waiting till 5am is ridiculous, many of us have arrangements to make if school is closed, and calling people at 6am won’t cut it.

And yet we did it that way for years and years. For the subset of people with young kids with inflexible full time jobs and no informal childcare arrangements in their life , this works best. Your typical type A, skilled whiner. If the goal is to send kids to school when possible it’s not best.

It’s only 5 PM! It’s gonna be snowing for several more hours. Why the heck do you need to know if you need to clear off the car now?

Because I'm a 50+ year old lady who isn't great at clearing stuff off in the snowy dark lol!

Don’t you need it off either way?

It just gets heavier and heavier with more buildup, so if you can get out there earlier and do it in shifts, it's better.

Better to shovel frequently
