My son is 6-5 and I'm not thrilled about him being out in the world with aggressive people like this when trying to fly. He's not going to be able to fly first class his whole life.

No one is aggressive. We are indeed talking about an inconsiderate 5.9 person who didn't have to have his knees in OP's seat. Nuance in situations matters. If your son can't fit in the seat he bought he should absolutely take it up with the airline and not make it a problem of an unsuspecting person in front of him. But I blame the airlines and not your son, obviously. The seats are too small.

So he should take it up with the airline (useless) and in your mind still never fly.
