Honestly, I wouldn’t use the post as a source for school scandals, particularly when dalton is involved. The sex abuse story is truly troubling, and we followed it. But ‘festival of jew hate’ is just standard NYP lib target practice - their headlines about the race letter from the teachers were practically art, they were so clever. And I’m not sure why the third one is even newsworthy, although ‘greedy posh nyc school director husband’ is quite a mouthful.

All k-12s are going to want you to stay through HS graduation; however, a school like Browning will also want what’s best for your DS. It’s a pretty small “cozy” community and while perhaps less rigorous than some schools it’s definitely a rigorous school.

It seems like placement would be easier coming from Browning than UNIS but I would HIGHLY encourage you to think about what’s best for your son now versus in 9 years from now.

We toured the school and it was refreshing to hear their ideas about “boy’s education” however we were wondering if it is too much for all the way to 12th grade. We are wondering if it’d be easy to apply to co-ed TT high schools from Browning.

About UNIS, we were told it’s more focus ed on fun and play until high school where the IB program kicks in. We like the idea but college placement becomes a concern especially with IB not so well received by American colleges and we do not have plans (so far) to move abroad.

Browning is an excellent single-sex K-12 program. They are highly focused and experienced in that vertical.

I don’t know much about UNIS other than it’s co-ed - I would be focused on those differences and see what you think makes more sense for DS. Spend some time on Browning’s website today going through their educational philosophy.

No, we applied very narrowly and it was the only one we felt was just right.

Trinity Wl unlikely to move because they give more offers than enrollment. HM has high priority wl. Riverdale also seems to waitlist everyone. If you are high priority list for those two that’s better chance.

All schools have some sort of priority list- e.g. a board members’ family friend. But just because you are not on the priority WL, doesn’t mean you can’t work the WL. I’ve seen unconnected families get off the WLs.
