Sadly it has to do with being able to work and provide a living for yourself and your children. As difficult as it is here in America for women can you grasp how difficult it is for these particular women? Many of the cultural norms you take for granted aren’t available to everyone else. If you don’t understand this then I hope you are not offering an opinion on the situation because you are grossly uninformed.

This is why they originally made friends with the Jews-as the custom, Bedouins are hospitable to newcomers. Nomadic Arab cultures were focused on business and caravans-being tied to one place for generations was unknown esp. for Bedouins. This is why Bedouins have no problem living in Israel.

Palestinians are not really Arab nomadic. Neither are the Levantine countries like Syria and Lebanon. There ancestors were farmers who lived in villages for generations. Palestine and Lebanon is extremely fertile. There's no need to move anywhere else. A camel caravan or being a nomadic merchant wandering the desert is as foreign to a Palestinian as it it is to an American. Jewish culture due to its nomadic experience across Europe saw more commonality with the Gulf/Khaleeji Arabs and Bedouins-aka the real Arabs because they are nomadic and pragmatic about money and moving.



I agree with most of that. I wouldn’t say the Bedouins have no problem living in Israel though. They are getting kicked around like many others. They are not wanted.

I have never felt I was entitled to the land where I lived I bought it and the government, can, if it chooses take it back, I also don’t think I’m entitled to land currently claimed as tribal land. I’m not packing up my family, pushing my way in with a bulldozer, building condos and moving onto those lands, I’m not preventing people who live on those lands from being afforded all the rights and privileges that I have as a citizen, I’m not restricting their movement, supplies and livelihood. America has made an effort (although perhaps not enough) to attempt to make amends for the treatment of the Native American and has acknowledged their mistreatment. So no, it’s really nothing like it.
