The do this at Georgetown, too, and even at my kid's (private) high school to the admissions director. I thought it was charming! I can imagine the admissions director is less charmed, though he took it well.

We had this at GU as well. I found it kind of awkward TBH.

We were fortunate to not have a bad tour guide for our 2023 grad, although tours weren’t available due to COVID until late spring of her junior year. Best by far was USC, where tour guide was charming and funny and it was fun to see all the Heisman awards in the athletic center. The AD at GaTevh gave a great presentation, and we also really liked the tour guide at UCSB.

Thank you for this thread, OP. I am so sick of people trashing various colleges. I don’t enough about any colleges yet to add to the positivity, but my oldest is a junior and I look forward to visiting many colleges with him!

As a current parent, I can confirm that Davidson is a very happy, social place. My student absolutely loves it! Fantastic classes w amazing profs, lots of fun social opportunities, a super charming town and an all-around great group of students on campus. It's an idyllic place for college!
