No. They are not in the business of arranging rides for people who don’t want to inconvenience their friends and neighbors by asking for a ride. This is something OP needs to arrange.

Medical transport will do it and it’s pretty routine. That being said … my husband had a colonoscopy at Inova Alexandria 2 years ago, so not quite during Covid anymore, and I of course dropped him off and picked him up but did not wait with him, and when I went to pick him up I pulled into one of the circular drop-off/pick up driveway areas and he just walked right to the car. There was a nurse with him but she didn’t walk with him to the car. So I feel like if no one was paying super close attention that you could totally get Uber or Lyft. But it is risky so I’d look up a medical transport company for the ride home.

Call the hospital and explain everything to a social worker. They can arrange a ride.

You made your husband pay you?!?

Every time my wife or I had a colonoscopy or other procedure that involved sedation, they required a
driver/escort be there at check-in.

I am guessing they want to be sure you are safe, since people are often very out of it when picked up.

I wonder if the office would leave you in recovery room for 1-2 hours afterwards if you not lucid enough to Uber
