I never liked Costco but after a few years I now do. We go mainly for bulk items like cleaning supplies, tp, chicken is good, chips, sometimes you just find interesting things. They have a good Asian food selection. Wines are good. I'm not getting 50 bananas and 5 lbs of grapes so there's def a lot I'm not getting but every month going once is not a deal killer. I tend to shop clothing at boutiques and truly would not be caught dead getting clothes there but I have to admit sometimes you actually find quality stuff like hoodies and casual clothing that really do work for good deals. I find myself interested in going more during change of seasons to see new items offered. We got a space heater there for example there this season. Hand warmers for the kids when they play soccer and winter track this season. So not just food and in fact rarely a ton of food but def a few fave items typically frozen. I will say if again - as someone who enjoys not $5 wine, their selection is pretty good! I'm impressed. Their linens are also a good deal. Again - you really have to carefully look through the store at everything, for me it's kinda like adventure shopping because it's not something I would do daily for our small family. But it's a nice different alternative and is handy for once a month or so.

Shh, don't tell the suburbanites! All the Costcos they mentioned are hellish because of the physical layout and space, but also because of the people who go there. We don't want them coming to DC. I won't pretend the DC location is an island of tranquility, but I actually enjoy going.

That is not specific to Costco. And the crowd at my Costco are way less trashy than the folks at my Walmart and Sam’s Club.

Love Costco and hate shopping there. When stuck at home during Covid discovered Costco delivery (instacart for groceries), and I will never step foot inside the building again. No more dealing with their overcrowded parking lots, or crazy shoppers, some who seem to enjoy making a day of it and others who bring their families to feast in the free snacks and still others who delight in parking their carts in the middlenof an aisle. No more of that for me

Pet peeve: when people line up for gas at Costco and then somehow don't have their cards ready to go when it's their turn. People! The line is usually about 10 min. long. You have ample time to gather everything you'll need, pop that gas tank, unbuckle your seat belt and prepare. I do not come to play.

Nope-And there are things that I can only get at costco. Also have non perishables shipped all the time and that alone makes it worth it. But I have 3 teenage boys so obviously my circumstances make bulk shopping a necessity. We also have a sam’s membership (I only do pickup) and walmart plus. I will do whatever to make things easier for myself 🙂.

Also if you have a Costco membership and go through their site, the Instacart fees aren’t bad.

About 50% more with tip.

Just have Costco deliver it.
