This. The only kids I know who got into UGA OOS for EA also got into places like UNC or UMich OOS. It was a hard admit this year.

Ultimate goal is UGA probably (deferred) so need to visit these in the meantime.

Has other options too (and some higher ranked) but wanted to check these as we like the warm/southern/friendly vibe.

I am a USC honors alum - I can’t compare with the other schools, but I will say that the honors college curriculum ensured I had really small classes, the opportunity to get to know my professors well, and study opportunities not available to other students. If you are interested in politics, I was able to to intern/be a research assistant at the SC legislature all through college (the Capitol building was closer to my dorm than some of my classes). Plus there is a ton of research funding available for honors thesis projects. Just a few things to consider.

Honestly, they are all brand names and will provide great opportunities for your kid if they take advantage and thrive at any of these three (so congrats!). That being said, the vibes are different. Clemson social scene is more contained and although Greenville is beautiful, it is not frequently visited by students. For me, Clemson would have been the best fit. And it is probably most academically competitive (but not really meaningfully different). For by DD, she would have loved SC-the Soda Sat markets, art and music scene and overall most urban environment. For my DS, UTK with the spirited Knoxville scene, fraternity, sport and outdoor vibe would have been best. Just visit the three and see what fits.
