Hooray for non-democratic election algorithms!

Like when Racine one with a whopping 37% of the vote!

This is concerning.

If anyone, R White had the best chance to unseat her. I like Henderson, but she has next to no name recognition and doesn’t show much sign of wanting to mount a mayoral campaign.

It’s possible - although unlikely - that Racine could challenge her, although his brand has faded and it’s not clear he would be able to mount much of a challenge.

None of them can beat her. Racine is now seen as the guy who let all the young criminals go home for dinner. Christina doesn’t have the wit or charisma to navigate Trump and Congress.

It’s a shame Racine quietly disappeared because he should be held to account for the results of his ridiculously lenient, I mean “progressive”, juvenile justice policies.

This reminds me that Racine's PR team maintains a puff propaganda article on Wikipedia. Please fill in the missing article with source-cited facts.

WTOP article on Norton selfishly clinging to (non)-power and destroying her legacy.

She actually does, but clearly you have never bothered to meet her before disparaging her online and anonymously.

Met her several times in official and personal capacities and am simply underwhelmed by her. Not very impressive, and not as nice as people who don’t know her think she is

What's the downside of Robert White as replacement? Seems good to me, but I haven't lived in DC very long so maybe I'm missing something.

White didn't come close, twice.
Muriel will see the stadium project through.

We have ranked choice voting now. That's going to change things. I'm optimistic that Holmes Norton is on the way out.

Will ranked choice voting apply for federal elections as well?

No.

It matters. This person sits on committees and can be a strong voice against the opposition. A good candidate could be good for the Dem brand. Have you seen the new shadow Senator? He’s amazing and is building strong relationships with Senators who have power. DC needs a strong advocate for statehood because it WILL happen.

New? One has held the office since 1997, the other since 2007. Do you know their names?

It seems you don't know their names. Ankit Jain was elected last year, replacing Michael Brown (aka White Mike), who was elected in 2007

I am shocked.

It is meaningful. Over the years, Ms Norton secured well needed funds for the city, the establishment of the DCTAG program (although it has not been increased, but still), the old Navy Yard for redevelopment, and more. Somebody needs to to be there to advocate for the city. Ms Norton was good when she was of sound mind, but like all of us, she needs to realize when her career and mind has sunset.
