The MLS Next brand is going to keep growing every year. More and more clubs will ditch ECNL and jump on the MLS Next train. NVA will be the first big club to make the switch. They'll become a powerhouse overnight. Sure, some ECNL girl parents might freak out at first, but in a couple of years, they'll see how smart NVA was for making this move to MLSN + GA.
Isn’t NVA the largest club in NVA? Why is the boys-side so bad?

The MLS application lets you apply for
MLS Tier I
MLS Tier II
MLS Tier I and II
Tier 1 and 2 is for ECNL clubs with ECRL teams.
You can see who MLS is targeting.

It all comes down to which is the priority.....boys or girls?
Boys: MLSN > ECNL (or anything else)
Girls: ECNL > GA (or anything else)
Which program do you prioritize? If you can't do Boys MLSN/Girls ECNL (which is the ideal pairing) and you have to choose MLSN/GA or ECNL/ECNL, the answer for a club lies in their priority (or whichever has the higher $$$s).
You clearly dont get it.
NVA is playing the long game. They're looking two years down the road. If they think MLSN + GA will be the bigger deal than ECNL + ECNL, they'll make the switch. They're not thinking about what's best right now, they're thinking about what's going to be the winning move in the future.
No, you clearly don't. If you think for a minute they are doing this with the long-term interest of the kids/soccer versus the money, you really don't understand the landscape here. And if you think that the two-year horizon is long-term, then I have a bridge to sell you.
But it's not a new carrot MLS Next has stated that they intend to expand by a lot. This is an opportunity for clubs to get involved with a league that will guarantee then several levels of boys teams which translates to $$$.
No. MLSNext is not expanding by a lot. They are creating what is essentially ECNL RL. Which, frankly, will be better than ECNL National.

NVA possesses a strong a proven track record of success. Their entry into MLS Next, potentially including their highly regarded Girls program in the GA platform, would be a logical and impactful choice for the league.

this is absolutely the way.Anonymous wrote:If NVA moves to MLSNext and GA, it’ll benefit Union, VDA, and Arlington. You’ll see an exodus of girls from NVA and the top ones will displace second string girls on the other NoVa girls ECNL teams.
