I use a cup, tampons, pads, period underwear depending on what # day it is and what activities I'm doing. I'm all for options.

Me, also never been on any form of birth control.
Me too. I knew several women with strokes in their 30s and other serious complications and I didn’t want the risk. Condoms were no big deal until my husband got a vasectomy post kids.

Tampons and cups simply aren't a possibility for me.
And t doesn't matter how light your flow is you need to be using a barrier that keeps your blood from surfaces that are not your body.

I haven’t used a pad or tampon in more than 15 years. Also switched to cups and never looked back. Have never carried it in my purse or washed it out in a communal sink.

Honestly we have to do better as women. We can't demand the medical community treat us better if we don't take the time to know our bodies. Use pads, used tampons, use cups but at least know your body.
It’s actually not a stupid question. I remember going back to my usual cup my first period post baby #3 and I squatted down in public to pick something up and could feel it coming out of me. Had to rush to the bathroom and reinsert. Turns out I have a pretty weak pelvic floor now, which is why.

It does sometimes float out the next time I pull down my pants to go to the bathroom, but it does not fall out in my clothes or anything while walking. And I do this when when it is light which it usually is. I don't wear fancy underwear, just Gap breathe briefs or bikinis.
Why not just use a pantyliner?
Because I don't buy them that often and why bother when some folded TP gets the job done for light spotting? No plastic in TP either. Add in my black period underwear if I am worried lol

I can always predict when I am going to have my period (at least within a day or two). I have a little blood on toilet paper but not enough to need a cup. Isn’t that the same with everyone else?
Yes I can always anticipate when it's coming. And I can put it in safely (no TSS!) in advance if I know it's coming. It's also more comfortable than tampons because it's silicone.
Ugh. I have had my period for 40 years and I am goddamned shocked every month! How???????????

Prior to menopause at 47, I had not used tampons since I was 21. I had suspected toxic shock syndrome - by the time I sought care, my period was over so the advice I got was likely TSS so no more tampons.
Scared me straight and honestly I never could find a brand or fit that worked.
