Mostly Bs 9-10would not get in
Yeah, but that 35 looks good. As well as the upward trajectory in grades over the years.
I think Elon and Richmond are doable for someone looking for an easier admit to a Davidson-type school. I'd also look at High Point. Will definitely get in there.
Yikes! No to HPU. They’ve had accreditation issues. No comparison to the quality of education at a well-established school like Davidson. There are other much better and comparable suggestions in the thread.
Can you give examples of your concerns about High Point’s quality of education?

You said Davidson has better academics. What is inferior about High Point’s academic offerings?
I don’t know but no one goes to High Point for the academics. You go for … rich kid things. And anyone who reads your resume knows that.

Anonymous wrote:Appreciate suggestions, sorry to the original poster, but hopefully helping them too. They like Elon and Furman a lot. Prefer size of Elon and better for major, but liked vibe and Greenville location at Furman. They are not religious, moderate, heard some say religion and conservatives dominate there, but we didn’t get that on tour. Of course can only glean so much in a few hours. Just seemed like really nice kids.

Elon is much preppier than Davidson. App State is crunchy like Davidson. Elon is more like U Richmond and W&L.
Davidson is very preppy.
People are comparing Davidson to W&M and W&M isn’t that pretty. Who’s wrong?
Davidson is not preppy the way people describe W&L. You will find some preppy students there, but the overall vibe is not preppy. If in your mind preppy = conservative, then it's even less so. Davidson definitely leans more left than right. Parent of a current student.
The kids I know that attend are pretty darn preppy. As in they went to fairly conservative private schools prior to Davidson, there must be a range.
Preppy =/= conservative, does it?
