100%. He is so bad why do they pick him to host. His misogyny is unbearable right now.

I agree it was self indulgent. It was a giant bummer from a comedy program at a time when people needed a laugh. It didn't serve as Amy kind of useful or insightful commentary. It was just "let's be sad together."
I liked this year's much better and liked that they did a head feint so you thought it was going to be another unfunny, self-indulgent, "right celebs are sad about something that probably won't affect them much" moment. But then they turned it into a genuinely good joke. I love Ego Nyodem claiming to be one of the 6% of black women who voted for Trump, and Heidi Gardener claiming to have voted for him 50x in Pennsylvania. The ripped Trump was funny. The butt of that whole joke is Trump and his stupid ego and that's right on the money. It's funny and it strikes at the truth.
I have extremely limited tolerance for rich people whining about the election on tv, even though I'm unhappy about the election results. Grow up. If you're unhappy, use your outsized privilege and influence to do something. Sitting there being publicly "devastated" is weak and pointless.
lol. they're scared their jobs are going to get cancelled
That was the joke.
I thought it was hilarious. They didn't even have to write the bit about Elon jumping around because he actually did that. The only thing that would have made it better would be having the guy's shirt pull up when he jumped, like Elon's did.

Anonymous wrote:Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton singing Hallelujah just after the 2016 election and Leonard Cohen’s death was one of the most powerful cold opens I can remember. Not sure they can top that tonight.
