According to my son, the Indy player was trash talking and skirmishing after game ended but before the handshake line, which resulted in the ref announcing that he is ejected from the NEXT game. This happened at the scorers table which is why parents are not aware of it. But from the parent sideline I could hear this player running his mouth the whole game. For Yorktown's sake, I hope that VEL upholds the ref's decision, so they can have reasonably clean game without one kid trash talking and taking cheap shots all over the field.

Just for full disclosure and what your son probably didn't offer was that there was plenty of trash talking being done on both sides throughout the game. I was there and could clearly hear it from the sidelines. I'm not going to say that it is part of the game and personally am not a fan of it as I think it shows poor sportsmanship. However, glass houses/stones. This forum makes it sooo easy to get on an anonymous soapbox and gang up on a team/specific players. Everyone needs to relax a little bit. Especially if you are relying on second hand information from your son. Let VEL handle it and move on.

I actually thought it was a pretty good game given the amount of starters that weren't there on both sides.

This is exactly what I heard... We will see if VEL and Indy uphold the officials ruling....

Nothing is going to happen. He is just going to to keep doing it and hopefully he does something this stupid at a showcase event.

That is definitely a slight exaggeration but he is no bigger than 5'8 135.

you could debate whether he is 125 or 135, but either way he plays scared. he won't fight for a ground ball or initiate any contact (other than slashing) in high school, so hard to see how he would play in college, even at the club level.

You could be 6’4 250#

BUT if you have a bad attitude, take cheap shots, yell at opponents and refs, give stupid penalties, AND have an over involved dad who works against coaches and tries takes over and get you fired

WELL, you will not only get no looks but coaches talk and they will RUN from you!

Agree with this. Nothing out of the ordinary. Indy is a decent team. Gave Langley a much closer game than Yorktown. Looks like Yorktown and Indy play this week and I would not be shocked if Indy beat Yorktown.

For those not at the game, take these comments about cheap shots, ejections, etc as just false and internet chatter.

Question to Indy parents - does it bother you that the whole team has a trash reputation when 99% of the behavior comes from one kid who is never held accountable?

It was a defender who was thrown out towards the end of the game not the coaches son.
