Currently have 2 in college ($$$), want to retire eventually, cannot imagine ever having had a third

There’s no guarantee your additional kid will be neurotypical or not have any health challenges. Stop while you’re ahead.

I only have three. But luckily my mom was one of 5 and my father one of 8. Which means at 62 I still have several aunts and uncles alive and I have 40 first cousins

Yes. Maybe next life.

We have two - I wanted a third but it never happened and didn’t want to do fertility treatments for a third … I feel our family is how it was meant to be. No regrets! Thankful we were able to pay for college, grad school and eventually we will be able to make significant contributions to weddings or first homes for both. This would not have been the case if we had 3. I know we would have made it work, but our lives, and their lives, and our retirement would be very different with 3.

We are a family of 3. Two parents, one son.

It is great.

My friends from large families all have small families of their own.

+1 My parents had 7 children. Among the 7 of us there are only 8 grandchildren. If you have plenty of money, sure have more kids. But my parents did not have enough money (or time for that matter) to fully support us. It was tough.

I love my family of four. I am not sure we could have a better family vibe than the one we have. We had once talking about having another (when our youngest was 2 years old). So so glad we didn’t. Our oldest is in college and our youngest is a junior in high school. I am happy to be almost done with this phase and look forward to the dynamics changing as they enter young adulthood.

We have 4. Started out thinking we’d only have two. 3rd was def a surprise and then when it came to #4- it was like “why not!?”

It’s exhausting and expensive but I am so excited to see where they are all going. I’ve got five siblings and husband has four so we were kind of used to larger families. It def makes holidays more special.

My sister with two out of college has confessed she wishes she had had more. I remind myself of this on the hardest days! We are happy with our choices. On the good days- wish we’d had more.

I always wanted the 3rd child, but I also wanted to stop having kids at 30. We tried hard, it didn't happen. Now we are 48 and empty nester. I am so glad we had only two children.

Yes. We had 2, but in an ideal world we would have had 4, with less space between them. (My two are almost 5 years apart.)
We have a tiny family (no nieces/nephews on either side), and I'm sad that my two have just each other. Because of the age and gender difference, they aren't particularly close.

No.

We had three in under 2.5 years (twins were involved) and most days I think we had too many.

I had three kids but no pets. A dog or anything else to take care of would have broken me
