Yes, we lived here for years without a car. Traffic is pretty crazy north of the neighborhood, but we don't drive that way very often. It's pretty crazy south toward DC, too. Traffic is just generally a bear around here. We walk and take metro whenever possible, and that includes our commutes. I would never drive into DC willingly during rush hour.

not anymore than it already is. we are used to it, part of the way it is there. with the new grocery store there and the development of that side of bethesda, i think the traffic will be less of an issue, who would need a car then?

That already happened. The new developments might be a concern from an overcrowded schools perspective.

I was walking through the "East Bethesda" neighborhood during this past weekend's Taste of Bethesda. I love that neighborhood! It's on our list for closer in neighborhoods that we're looking at.
