Not really.

MD used to use PARCC and now they use MCAP. It tests the same sort of thing.

Plus, average SAT scores, especially for math, are a lot better at Basis DC then B-CC, so if anything PARCC has a higher standard than MCAP.

B-CC has 22% students on food support (FARMS)


NP and this might be a bit off topic but if the only determinant of a school being good is the percent of kids not on FARMS then it really has nothing to do with the teachers or curriculum or anything but household income. And are we saying FARMS kids can be proficient in math or English?


Yes, aggregate proficiency data is mostly just a proxy for demographics. But I think the PP you’re quoting was clarifying the PPP’s characterization of B-CC as a “wealthy Bethesda” school.
