Zero return on investment and too much risk of what the education will do to my children.
Doubt you are really an Ivy grad cause people would not curse their padigree unless something like their kids wasn't let in their alma mater.
dp but another ivy grad who wont send his kid there:
1) there was no cursing
2) its spelled pedigree
my kids are going overseas
What’s with all the kids going overseas?
schools arent woke, students are there learn, no indoctrination, schools are less expensive, got into Oxford
Except they are woke. Just admit you are looking for prestige on the cheap.
Are you this much of a bully in real life? NO, kid wanted it, and got in. End of story.
Are you this much of a wimp in real life?
There are 3992 schools in the US outside of the Ivy League. You said you didn’t want your kid going to the Ivy League so you presented only Canadian and UK schools as the only other acceptable options.
Your English is awful so perhaps it’s your poor communication skills in your post.
Nobody says “No Ivy League” and then only implies UToronto, Oxford and Cambridge are acceptable for their kid except someone that wants prestige for less.

It's not for law school. Go look it up. All they care about is LSAT and GPA. Because those are the figures they report
Right, but if the numbers are identical, they'll favor a kid who earned the GPA at a more rigorous school.
BUT THAT ISN'T THE CHOICE IN FRONT OF THEM! There are tens of thousands of applications. They aren't looking at JUST TWO. It isn't do we pickthis kid or that kid in isolation! It's "how do we fill this class with the highest GPAs and LSAT scores possible so we can report that to USNWR>". Don't believe me? look at the stats for last year's admission to Harvard law, my alma mater: an impossible 3.9 on a 4.0 top scale for GPA at the 75th percentile and a 176 on the LSAT. Do you realize just how difficult that is? They don't give a fig if you went to podunk U in Alaska. Actually, Podunk U might work because Admissions still likes to brag about geography so Alaska could help.

Harvard. i would no longer send my kids there or any of the ivies. i want them to get an education not political indoctrination from the extreme left. Both are going to either Canada or Oxford ( already accepted)
Sorry, but protests are happening in Canada and the UK. McGill and Oxford already have protests going on.
Seriously, though, this is what students do. They protest, and when you have very large protests that happen internationally, you should listen. Students were not wrong about Vietnam or South Africa, even though at the time students were criticized by people probably like you for being naive, unpatriotic, hypocritical, etc.

Students only admitted under test optional policies or because they checked certain “woke” boxes will tarnish the Ivy rep (see post above with Hamas-supporter requesting food delivery to protestors). Students engaging in antisemitism will be blacklisted. So if the “education” doesn’t seem top tier anymore and is, in fact, indoctrination and anti-American, I am hoping more families with means will opt out. Maybe this will force a correction in tuition. We can only hope!
Well
Affirmative action was ousted and they are bringing back scores.
you are wrong about afffirm action. Both my slac and law school (and all other institutions i kniw iif) sent out letters post scotus devision about oledge to diversity. the battle has just moved from a box to a more sleight-of-hand expansion in the essay. Roberts said that was ok so thats now where students talk about race etc
Yes but the URM kids getting in this year everywhere are not the ones whose parents are both bankers and doctors, but rather the first generation kids whose dad is the janitor at the private school.
There’s been a big shift. And at least at our private a lot of white and Asian kids are having stellar results because of it.
