It all depends on how you style them.

I love my Carel Arianas. They are super comfortable and can elevate casual outfits with jeans; or they can add a little whimsy to a boring, conservative look. But I’m not out here wearing frilly socks to work.

They’re more common with younger employees at my office than heels, actually. Women’s footwear really has become more practical recently. The most common heels I see nowadays are booties. So Mary Janes and other flats are the norm.

I love Mary janes. Flats and heels. I'm another one who often struggles with shoes slipping on my heel even when it's the right size.

A shoe I will never, ever understand: the slingback. I recently saw a celeb walking a red carpet in a pair of sling back and, god bless her, the straps where just 100% under her heel and she was keeping the shoes on her foot with toe strength and careful stepping while still managing to work her outfit for paparazzi. A true pro. As an recreational dresser, I would have thrown what I'm sure were $1000+ slingback in the dumpster.
