What did you do and what did your kids like best? Thinking of going in June.

Did you do Northern Arizona? Southern Arizona is much better for spring break.

Shhhhhh!

There’s so much to do in this small county - eco-lodge in the jungle, Mayan ruins and cave tubing inland, out to the islands for amazing snorkeling on the barrier reef. We relied on tour guides and hired transport more than we usually do when we travel but felt like the right choice for this trip.

Same here! And half the people we met were from the DC area. Maybe we were caving together...

The trip was incredible.

Smiled my way through and then vented here later. I too would have preferred being at a beach or resort or cool vacation like everyone else on this thread and would’ve been had we not thought that house was imminently being sold and it was our kids’ last chance to go! Lesson learned.

Another NP - That's nice of you to cook, but undoubtedly, since you've been there before, you knew that there were no close-by stores or restaurants, and that the trip would involve cooking. It's a cabin. People have fun in all kinds of weather and with all kinds of amenities. Some people would be grateful to go to a cabin for spring break. It's all about attitude.

Which one?

Not the PP but we went to Hyatt Ziva in Cancun. Resort is gorgeous, weather was beautiful, but we all got a horrific stomach virus and I’m not sure I will ever go back.

Next year it’s end of April.

Good, because March weather is so unpredictable in most places.

Not good if you are a teacher... that is a really long time for the kids to go without a break. They really start to lose focus. - HS teacher

Mammoth mountain in California. Amazing skiing. Storms for 3 days. Fresh powder. Day tripped to June Mt. Both Ikon mountains. Spectacular scenery. Highly recommend the Eastern Sierras.

I think I’m the 4th poster who is in PR! Love it, on the beach in Isla Verde right now. 85 degrees.

Stayed at the residence inn San Juan. Newer hotel. Pretty nice. 5 min walk to beach.

Our two high schoolers sleep in while DH and I go to the beach around 9. Teens join us around 11.

One day we did an excursion to Vieques to do the bio bay. The ferry was fun but it was overrated and expensive. Also the place we stayed was dumpy. We’re happy to get back to San Juan.

The food has been meh, but also not that bad. For lunch I got a chicken kabob and a pina colada for $10 on the beach.

All in all, with direct flights and 2 rooms AAA rate, spent about $6k. W food and car rental, probably more like $7500. But a great 8 days!

Also in London. Weather has been typically sucky- sunny for about five minutes then pouring rain then windy, and repeat. But loads to do and love walking around town.

We just got back from London, it was gray and chilly but not much rain. We loved it.
