Of course there were tons of rumors because no information was shared with the community and everyone was trying to figure out what the heck was going on.

The shooter went to Westfield for several years, but seems to have dropped out for this school year. Too busy with his criminal pursuits, I imagine. Only so many hours in the day.

Yeah, that was posted before the news came out with the ID of the shooter. My kids go to CHS and know a lot of WFHS kids, and the rumors have been flying all day. The school shared no information with the students or parents other than that a student died, no other info given, so it has just been one story after another.

The victim's identity hasn't been released and probably won't be publicly. Nor has the identity of the friend, who is probably also a minor. The photo is of the suspect.

Westfield is in an odd location -not really close to a lot of dense neighborhoods--and I believe when they rezoned that area they were trying to balance out the FARMS kids percentages.

Hasn’t that area been zoned to Westfield ever since Westfield opened? They had to change the ES boundaries when Coates opened but that wouldn’t have involved a change in the HS boundaries.

Miles wise the hotel location is closer to Herndon, South Lakes, and Chantilly then Westfield. FCPS boundaries are so dumb.

Its basically in Loudoun and surrounded by car lots and Cox Farm. There is nothing out there. I guess that's why the land was still open.
