I don't think JLo takes all the blame, but she was the one still married when they started dating in 2001/2002 (wasn't public until her divorce was finalized, but they were certainly a thing).
Fine that didn't work out.
What the hell would make them think that they could work it out a second time after adding five kids, two failed marriages (many failed relationships, including an engagement), two careers, two decades of becoming more solid in who they are (which we all do with age).
It's an insane equation and I don't think any two people can make it work with all of that going on. He has obviously been very unhappy at every public event. It's not his thing. In his free time he wants to watch baseball, bet on horses and drink like an old bachelor/part time dad. They don't have the same life values or goals. She needs to stop forcing pieces into her puzzle. She can be complete and whole without marriage.

What do we think of T Swift making her relationships her personality, etc? I mean, I think that's part of being famous. I also think celebrities choose to be defined by that because there are a lot of celebrities who keep their private life more private.

Certainly don't think BA is innocent, but she drove the production of The Greatest Love Story documentary, which he didn't want, and in fact, no one wanted.

Totally agree with all of this. They both were so stupid and immature for rushing into marriage before working out this dynamic in a way that might work for both of them. If that's even possible. He likes her body and her work ethic, but doesn't actually like the way she lives her life. She can't relinquish the spotlight one iota, even for "true" love. Recipe for disaster when there is that degree of incompatibility. Shame he couldn't appreciate a normal, gorgeous woman like Jen G.

Maybe she wanted to intertwine her marriage and her work a little too much. One foundational difference between JL and BA is the deep need she seems to be "on" all the time. Neither person is wrong, but it makes for a lot of friction in a couple.
Let's not put all the blame on JL. Ben also sought her out, courted her a second time, married her all the while knowing how she is wired. Plus, he had a quiet regularly working wife (Jennifer Garner) and seemed super bored with her the whole time.

I think she miscalculated the public’s interest in her relationship with BA with The Greatest Love Story Ever Told which was absolute cringe, as well as the public’s interest in her overall with The Is Me… Now. She doesn’t have the fan base of Beyoncé or TS. Both of these shows + her new concert tour, have created an overexposure/trying to hard scenario. It’s such a fine line, as an artist, you do need to get out there and promote new music, but it should have been more strategic and spaced out/layered (my two cents as a PR person).

Pop Music is a cruelly young genre and it is a young woman’s game.
Madonna was able to pivot to touring but J Lo doesn’t have a big fanbase willing to buy your tickets like that because she never toured or established her performing reputation early on . She actually is as good a performer as Madonna or Beyonce or Britney but during her peak when she had pop hits, she wasn’t touring at all because she was filming movies every year . The rom coms were a mistake . She should’ve built her fanbase by extensive performing or touring early on.
She had one foot in music and one foot in movies but didn’t fully commit to either as a singer/dancer or an actress and now the downside is she can’t tour in old age because she didn’t build a ticket buying audience earlier , and she can’t do rom coms as she’s aged out and that genre isn’t as popular or commercially successful as it was in the early 00s.
You make compelling points. JL wants it all. And I don't think she has failed. There are success levels beyond "failed" and "wild success." In some arenas she is a bigger hit than others. I appreciate her hard work.
There is still time for her to pivot to more of the behind the scenes/development side. Problem is she loves being the product.
I hope she doesn’t pull a Madonna and make Ben direct a movie for her. That was the beginning of the end of Guy Ritchie and Madonnas marriage. Madonna even said that was when things changed.
I don’t think Ben would Direct a movie with J Lo as the star and he reads the room enough to see the trouble in this but you never know.
I would like to see J Lo direct a biopic about her life. I find it fascinating. Where she grew up in the South Bronx, going to a good Catholic school but still hanging in the block on the weekend with her friends , and how she was able to make it in Manhattan as a dancer and then move to LA and find work as an actress is fascinating. I know she must have dealt with her fair share of Catty auditions with women she has to see at every audition and her fair share of experiences with creeps. If she brings the real story , she will gain way more fans .
I want to see a Madonna biopic as well

She said her mother was abusive and she doesn’t raise her kids at all the way they were raised. She said her mom would beat her or her sisters if they ever got in trouble or talked back.
She said her father was patient and loving and never hit them and she gets her temperament from him . He also was the only one in her family and neighborhood to not discourage or mock her for her dreams of being a star . She has said many times everyone else thought she was crazy for thinking a Puerto Rican girl from the Bronx could become a big Hollywood movie star .
She does credit her mother though because she says that extreme fear and her mothers helicopter parenting kept her out of the troubles in the South Bronx like drugs, teen pregnancy, gangs, .
