Oh stop it. I'm not repressed at all but don't feel like being pressured to get naked around my friends and their husbands.
But it’s true!
The Americans really are overly ashamed and really repressed about the human body.
Really: the whole puritanical-American mindset is just un-natural.
No one wants to see your unshaven pits and Granny boobs even on St. Barth's, sweetie.

DH and I have gone to a nude beach a couple of times and that does feel pretty liberating. Frolicking in the water is a ton of fun. Those trips ended when we had kids.
What you and many others don’t understand is that being nude at the beach is not about being sexually enticing to others. No one there gives two shits what you think.
Can you seriously tell me why going topless is some magical experience? I mean, just a tube top style bikini is really repressing you?
I’m European and grew up with women going topless but it was maybe 10% of women only on specific beaches. Sure, it’s about sexual freedom but let’s not pretend it’s not about sex.
I will say I don’t understand covering up aggressively in gym locker rooms where you’re just going to and from the shower ; that happens in N America and seems silly to me, but that’s a women’s only space and everyone is busy getting to the next thing, no one is lying there for hours reading a magazine.
