After Aquaman, it became painfully obvious that Amber Heard can't act and has probably gotten by on looks & the casting couch. Welp, that didn't work out so good.

I don't care if Keanu can't act because I just love him as a person.

I don’t know about that. She disappeared in The Iron Lady, Sophie’s Choice, The Deer Hunter, Bridges of Madison County, and to a certain extent Devil Wears Prada. But Sophie’s Choice, I think she actually lost herself in that role. I don’t particularly like her in her comedic roles, but Meryl can go deep.

I don’t think it’s fair to criticize comedians for an inability to act. Ditto for Jerry Seinfeld. Neither him nor Sandler would tell you they think they are actors.

The most overrated of them all has to be Natalie Portman. Can someone give me one good role she's played? And do I see her out on the awards circuit right now??? She is truly a terrible actress.

She was good in The Professional. When she was a child. It launched her career.

Earl Tom Cruise was the best with Rainman and Born on the Fourth of July. He was also great in Tropic Thunder and Interview with a Vampire. All four different from his typical hero roles such as the MI and TG franchises. I think TC can act when he is not relying on special effects and speed adrenaline.

Dude, Timothee Chalamet's whole thing is, "I'm a cute stoner, I patented this druggie stare that I call Sand Steel because Zoolander is my role model. STAAAAARE. Good, now you'll forget that I can't act for s**t."

It's true tho

I remember going to see Little Women and I was enjoying the movie until Timothee's big scene where he sits on a hill and cries or something. He's very upset. I was gobsmacked at how bad he was. I have seen better high school actors.

For some reason this left my cry-laughing, and I don't remember that stupid remake (I like the earlier movie with Winona). Also, I've had a stressful day. So thanks for making me laugh this much.

Julia Roberts is another one who appears to be herself onscreen. A lot of overexposed A list actresses are the same. Think: Jen Aniston.

Came here to say Keanu

Yeah but I like him as a person. There are some untalented actors who are good people, and IMO Keanu Reeves is one of them.

Stay on topic. This is not about whether people are likable but whether they can act.

When she said that her Devil Wears Prada character took no effort to play because she was basically playing herself, I was like, "Okay I'm done with you."

She also sent Sandra Bullock some dead flowers after Bullock won an Oscar or Golden Globe, so yeah. Apparently she's not an actress, just the Devil in Prada/Chanel.

You're wrong. She was Method Acting in that movie and stayed in character despite being miserable doing so.

"Meryl previously admitted she was "so depressed" during filming because she adopted an acting style which meant she kept an icy relationship with her co-stars Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt, and afterwards she vowed never to go "Method" again.

She told Entertainment Weekly: "It was horrible! I was [miserable] in my trailer. I could hear them all rocking and laughing. I was so depressed! I said: 'Well, it's the price you pay for being boss!' That's the last time I ever attempted a Method thing!"

Blunt concurred in an interview with The Independent newspaper, saying: "Do you know she’s never done Method acting since? She said it made her so miserable on this one, because we were all having a party on the other side of the set. And she was like: ‘I won’t do this again'."

Guys, Meryl Streep's harassed 20-year old PA found this thread and forgot to take her meds.

She disappeared into Sophie's Choice. You clearly have a bias against her. Own it.
