Why aren’t these semaglutide haters saying the same thing about blood pressure medications, anxiety medications acne medications or heart medications. Many say those ailments can be remedied by eating healthy, exercising and walking in flower fields. Why don’t you guys go on the health forum and tell those folks they just need to try harder? They just need to eat more broccoli and carrots?
Some folks have taking BP meds and cholesterol meds for decades, why aren’t you guys flaming them to just try harder? I really want to know.
Nobody is flaming anybody. You interpret any suggestion that obesity is actually controllable without chemical intervention as crazy talk.
Many people do take hypertension medication because their condition is generic and cannot be controlled. Some cholesterol issues are genetic. Obesity that is out of a persons control is extremely rare, actual human history demonstrates that. And, if it is, it’s usually a function of decades of poor decision making.
Yet here we are, and any suggestion of causation actually connected to someone’s behavior is a moral issue. Casting it that way guarantees there can’t be a discussion. Convenient that line of thought.

NP here. Every person who questions the overuse of these new drugs to not have to be bitter trolls. We all know the other shoe is going to drop. This cannot be healthy. We all need to stop talking about "food noise," and just take responsibility for our health by making good choices. Trust me, I struggle every day. I am not in the overweight category, but close and gained a lot of weight, binge eating and drinking too much during the pandemic. Now I am sadly paying the price and controlling my binge eating on my own. It can be done. It's very hard. But there is no way that starving yourself through drugs, while losing muscle, is healthy.

I finally know it's not about will power and discipline at all, and I was not a bad, lazy person. It is so liberating, even beyond the weight itself. No side effects aside from slight constipation.

I think they will make everyone who uses them rebound the weight as SOON as the come off them. And they inflate all our med coverage 🙄 Being fat is not a medical condition; it's a lack of discipline and laziness. Anyone can eat less if they actually TRY.
How lucky for you that you won the genetics lottery. For those of us who did not, who have spent our lives trying one diet after another, these meds are a life saver.
I disagree. Anyone who was around in the 70s and 80s knows that 70% of our population was definitely NOT overweight or obese.
Smoking kept people thin and unhealthy people died faster.

Thank you - and to clarify, nobody is making fun of me in real life, only when I post about a high fiber Whole Foods diet on these boards. Endless comments ‘you must fart and farting is gross’ - so childish!
