Metropolitan Police Department confirmed it was investigating a shooting that took place in the Northwest Washington, DC. where two marshals were on-duty working ‘a protective detail’ in the early hours of July 5.
A Deputy US Marshal was sitting in his car outside the top judge’s condominium at 1:15am when 18-year-old Kentrell Flowers approached, pointed a handgun at him, and tried to steal his vehicle, according to a police report obtained by DailyMail.com.

What makes her think we aren't going to brown bag it if we are forced to come into the city more? I'm not all that interested in paying $20 for a half-assed subpar sandwich or salad. Nor $26 to park. If we did that every work day it's $12,000. Sorry Muriel, they don't pay feds enough for that.
Congratulations, shitbag suburban DC government employees! "It's not my responsibility to support shltty DC businesses." Another long time local business stabbed in the back by your laziness. You are replacable. I wish you immediate and long lasting unemployment.

Hi! We go to good restaurants and bars that opened up in our local communities out in the burbs. DC is not our responsibility and definitely not interested in sticking around for expensive subpar food/service or going through a gauntlet of mentally ill vagrants to get there

Everything DC is a "great argument against statehood" for colonialists.

Also, Bowser is bringing Fenty back to help with the gallery place task force? And some of his former staff? Maybe the mayor reads DCUM?
It's not a very high bar to seem smarter than Bowser.
Unfortunately, Ms. Albert assumed her DC position under a cloud. There's substantial criticism of her immediately-prior role with the GSA. She stands accused as a GSA official of ignoring the established process and findings of an FBI site selection committee and putting her thumb on the scale for a Greenbelt site owned by Metro, where she previously worked.
There's no cloud. She is not a Bowser flunky. Her reputation speaks for itself. She worked for Metro but lives in DC. She doesn't have a dog in that hunt.
VA is just mad. Can't they just be happy with the Wizards?
Too bad that Bowser didn't try harder to get the FBI to stay in DC. Her concept of the DC economy seems to revolve around more condos and baristas, rather than keeping the big employers that we have. Belatedly she's panicked about the Caps and Wizards and demanding that Biden order federal workers back to their offices all the time.
This is absolutely true. She doesn't get how hard it is to operate a business here.
The huge rents, smashed storefronts and theft can't be that enticing to a business owner. This sucks. As a DC resident I want businesses I can walk to, I feel for them and also understand completely if they up and move. I want to!
Bowser needs MPD to step up.
The activists don’t want them to stop suspects.
The Council made pursuits all but illegal.
Racine and Schwalb have gutted juvenile justice.
The USAO won’t prosecute the most serious cases.
The Superior Court and Court of Appeals benches are stacked with former PDS attorneys.
And after Allen and the Council stopped hiring, there are 500 fewer officers now than there were going into 2020.
The violence interrupters are going to have to step up.
