I’m thinking of reading this one. Seems like reviews are somewhat mixed. People seem to either really love it or hate it. People in the latter category think the book is too long/goes off on tangents.

Same here. Honestly I would have liked it better if it was just the Tom Lake storyline. The present day story line is what I found boring.
I think this one was a little overpraised. I like Ann Patchett a lot, but this one was definitely a bit boring.
