I got the same roast. Great deal! I’d never eaten prime rib, let alone cooked it. Similar coating, perfect medium rare - but I wasn’t impressed. Maybe I just don’t like prime rib. Glad you enjoyed it!

I’m that PP. It’s a combination of buying frozen or pre-made (Wegmans crab cakes, Beecher’s Mac and cheese, Costco panko shrimp, bread from local bakery), pre-cut/cleaned veggies (green beans, butternut squash), DH smoking the prime rib, and just timing out the prep and cook times appropriately. Plus I genuinely enjoy the meal planning and cooking aspect. So that helps too!

LOL. All of a sudden no longer impressive.

I’m that PP. My family was actually pretty impressed by everything, so that’s all that matters! Sorry you’re hung up on the 4 premium, prepared items I used over the course of those days. Heaven forbid I don’t bake my own bread!!

Not about the bread but the other things. And Costco is premium 😂

NP, and I hope you're not like this all the time. I hope things turn around for you.

I've enjoyed reading everyone's menus. (I wish I could have popcorn and a movie one night -- I'm jealous 😫!)

NP. Hush, you! That’s still a lot of cooking, preparing, serving, buying and entertaining for a large group. Plus, you don’t have to martyr yourself to serve a delicious meal. Wegmans has beautiful crab cakes—you can’t make better.

I ended up making lamb/apricot tagine, couscous, Moroccan carrot salad,!green salad and we made peppermint ice cream for dessert. Dh also bought cannoli.
Served stuff mushrooms and cheese/charcuterie for apps. The lamb was heavenly, melt in your mouth (cooked the day before for hours)…

To all prime rib cookers, I am impressed. I can't make it, don't know how, and even in restaurants, I don't particularly appreciate how it is made.
And I can cook just about anything you imagine; I bake a perfect baguette at home. I can roast a whole pig but do not give me roast beef.
DS suggested I make Beef Wellington!!! And I said, I don't know how to make that.
