Same, but zoned for Einstein, not Northwood. I know of 1 who didn’t get in Wheaton first go, but won her appeal. Don’t be discouraged, OP.

. My child is in her 3rd year at Wheaton and we are very pleased with her administrator. Shout out to Mr. Z! Dr. Mugge has stepped in and things are running smoothly again after the past shaky school years. I am selfishly hoping that she will remain in place until my daughter graduates next year.

We have also been in a school construction situation at the old Tilden. Although on paper we moved back to the building "on time" the construction wasn't really completed. It was a maze at times to get to classes and some areas were not usable. I'm glad my youngest arrived at Wheaton after the breaking in period.

Not saying every single teacher at Wheaton or Blair or wherever is going to be great, just that Einstein is really really not known for giving kids a good math education. Please steer clear if your kid is likely to want to pursue higher math.

I am an Einstein parent too, and while I know the situation with that one AWOL math teacher was very bad last year, my understanding is that that teacher is gone now and there were several new math hires over the summer, so there is no longer a staff shortage. I don't think it's fair to call the whole math department "a mess." There are talented math and science teachers at Einstein, even if they may not have the breadth of courses other schools do.
