Will Smith has an excellent PR team behind him. If and when he ever wanted to pull the plug on this sham of a “partnership” he has with Nutball, he could with zero blowback or bad press. I actually think the American public would be relieved.

So they’ve been separated for years, but she just recently moved out? Not sure why I’m so interested in their lives right now, but I’m fascinated by this train wreck.

This is such a s***show. I want to be more sympathetic toward Will Smith, but damn, my guy, you have (and have had) the agency to get up out of this crazy for years and years. You allowed your children to witness this dynamic for years?

I believe he was broken when he got together with Jada and remains that way. But I cannot understate how absolutely hateful and ugly Jada has been, and this last week is even worse. When I think she couldn't possibly sink lower she does - and by a lot.

Will needs to get his ass off that boat and on to a therapist's couch. I hope he and their children get some support toward stability.

He was always light years more talented than she was. I'm sorry but it is the truth. She was really hot when she was younger and that garnered her roles and attention but she was never on his trajectory. She was a Rita Wilson, but less supportive and with a lot more drama (which is saying something because RW is kind of a piece of work).

What is the buzz about Rita Wilson?

She just seems like a lot. Also it's interesting to me that Hanks' kids from his first marriage are super stable and independently successful (obviously benefited from being his kids but have made a lot of of effort to succeed on their own merit) and his kids with Rita are... less so. I think she's one of those people who is outwardly extremely charming and likable but it seems kind of artificial and disingenuous.

Disagree- she was never hot. Or that good looking. She takes herself WAY too seriously. This whole Tupac was my soulmate thing is just weird

Agree, I can't stand Jada but she is a beautiful woman (on the outside).

Could not agree more. Tupac never even dated her. They were friends. Since he's not here she can manufacture whatever fan fiction she wants to with respect to Tupac.

Haven't read the book but I read the New York Times profile of her today and she seems like a fascinating person, unconventional and daring. For conservative people who believe that marriage is easy and you should stay with the same person you married at 25 and anyone who departs from that narrative is broken and evil, she won't be for you.

I think she's very real and it's great to have women speaking up who are willing to be renegade. Don't get me wrong, I respect people who have solid, easy long-term marriages, but I appreciate people who don't and are willing to speak about it. And given all of her and Will's dysfunction, I think it's amazing that they are still partners three decades later. That counts for something!
