Yes it's a great school that isn't very diverse.
Not very MCPS diverse. But definitely diverse enough.
but it's nothing like the county which is diverse
this person has to be a troll - the county is diverse as a whole - every geographic region contributes to that diversity as a whole - go into Langley Park and tell me it is diverse, you can't it is predominately Hispanic - go into certain neighborhoods in Rockville and tell me it is diverse, you can't it is predominately Asian.
You can't be this oblivious
These trolls just have political agenda. Obviously they don’t respect that each racial group prefers to live together and form their own community. It’s people’s own choice and MCPS should not try to do social engineering. Instead, focus on teaching. There is a big decline in teaching quality in MCPS but BOE doesn’t seem to care.
That's what's killing the MCPS. Trying to solve social issues via schools at kids expense. I am sure BOE cares, they just care about the wrong things. They focus on everything except, kids, teaching, and learning. So f'ed.
Some might also argue that Wootton's terrible boundary was an example of social engineering back in the 80s designed to minimize diversity.

Parents don’t like Mr. Nelson? How come?
I have no idea. Heard he is not very militant. This is a school of overachievers, kids and parents. Some want him to act as a commander in chief. Who knows. I think he is great.

Anonymous wrote:Is there an official DCUM definition of "diverse" or do we all bring our own personal idea of what makes a school diverse?
(That's a rhetorical question, btw.)

It probably has more ethnic groups than the diverse part you refer to. It just doesn’t have the diversity per your definition. But diverse is diverse.
It really doesn't and it has 0 SES diversity too.
