This was our experience at every east coast private college. The only diverse audience of prospective students we saw was at USC.

My two cents: people pay a lot of money to wrap their snowflakes in a preppy bubble at WF. I think that’s weird.
That’s more a commentary on your circle than Wake. My left leaning daughter is very happy there.
It’s not a friends and family circle, pp.
My work provides a big network, and there’s a lot of interesting observations about affluent whites sending their kids south to affluent white bubbles.
I’m glad your kid is enjoying it.
But the thread is more about how odd some parents and students find a campus with a rich, white preppy vibe.
Ftr, I’m a bleeding heart liberal.
It’s not an affluent white bubble, how quick you are to discount a third of the student body.
Eh, at least some of the 7.5% Latinos probably appear white, rich, and preppy.
That leaves roughly 12.5% black and Asian plus 3+% who identify as mixed.
So, not a lot of noticeable diversity.

I grew up attending a school with about 5 black kids but they were all over every single thing they printed.
Same with my kids' private. It is a very white school but the Instagram reads like a a Benetton add from 1985.

No comment on these op? Seems you must not actually be very observant as you didn’t get the student attire or diversity quite right.
Not OP but these are selectively posted pictures of kids running 21,000 laps for some sort of charity event.
It's not kids in their regular dress. It does't prove much of anything.
It’s a goofy run walk, not an athletic event, and quite clearly confirms that about 1 in 3 students is non white. As does the rest of the feed. I don’t see any sign of preppy attire either.
Anonymous wrote:We visited this weekend. In a large auditorium of 100+ visiting families I bet there were 3 black families and zero Asians. We toured the campus--girls are beautiful, boys are "bros." My son loves this scene so he was in heaven. My daughter was turned off. the wealth was crazy-so many designer purses and $300 sneakers on the moms on the tour and on girls walking around. My kids attend the Cathedral schools so we're no strangers to wealth or preppiness but this was next level. Am I missing something? We literally saw ONE south Asian girl the entire day and she was prepped out (or as my daughter said "white-washed"). Was everyone else hiding in their dorms?

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:OP, can you please explain what is inherently wrong with white people to the extent an institution should have fewer of them? Thanks !
I’ll bite . I agree OPs comments about white washed are gross, but surely you understand that most people want some racial diversity ?
I'll respond. I completely disagree that "most" people "want" racial diversity. I think most young people would think that's fine if it exists and fine if it doesn't, so long as that happens organically due to self selection and not as a result of Klan infiltration. When I go to a NHL hockey game I don't sit around thinking, "this would be great if only there were more black fans!" Same with an alt country live music show or a Vermeer exhibit. Or Vermont.
